HARVEST TO THRIVE

COMMUNITY URBAN FARMING PROGRAM

A Program of AZLR CARES

Harvest to Thrive is an agricultural education and empowerment initiative designed to support unhoused and low-income individuals in metro Atlanta. Through this hands-on program, participants gain valuable skills in sustainable farming, food production, budgeting, and entrepreneurship — all while growing fresh produce and rebuilding their lives.

Participants receive training in:

  • Urban and small-plot farming techniques

  • Financial literacy and self-employment fundamentals

  • Operating and managing a community farm stand

  • Healthy eating, food access, and environmental stewardship

All proceeds from the farm stand are reinvested into the program, with 25% supporting the upkeep of the family farm and 75% used to provide participant stipends, supplies, and expansion efforts.

By combining agriculture, community, and economic empowerment, Harvest to Thrive cultivates more than crops — it grows confidence, dignity, and a path to self-sufficiency.
