Mission Statement

On July 26, 2014, Women of Purpose Ladies Club hosted a back-to-school leadership and empowerment conference for 25 young ladies between the ages 12 to 18 years age in Atlanta, GA.  

The 1st Annual Teen Queen Experience Conference 2014 was the first community event for the Women of Purpose Ladies Club who shared the vision of Danette Shockley and worked together to sponsor this event. Their dream was to organize an event geared towards getting "our girls" motivated and eager for the new school year as we lift their spirits, reinforce their self-esteem and give them a new sense of pride in being a lady. It was a wonderful experience for the 25 young ladies, their mothers and the Women of Purpose Ladies Club. Through fundraising ($564 raised) and donations, each young lady walked away with book bags filled with school supplies, an outfit for the first day of school, teen queen care packages and priceless lessons and advice from our panelists and community leaders. We are ready to do it again.

We will reach out to the young ladies that may be at-risk (allowing their insecurities to lead them to fighting, drugs, gangs, etc.), have low self-esteem and those of humble homes to give them an environment where their voices will be heard, an outlet for their fears and a community of support and encouragement. The Teen Queen Experience is a training all young women deserve and will serve as a new beginning for the next phase of their lives. Each young lady, will enter the Teen Queen Experience Conference with fear and insecurities, and leave feeling full of life and excitement for their new ventures as lady, as a leader and a Queen. Our goal is to take away the anxiety, fear and pressure that some young ladies may encounter trying to fit into the crowd. We want them to be proud to be a lady and embrace their uniqueness and individuality. We feel to change our communities we must plant a seed. We are planting those seeds of knowledge in our young women so that they will blossom into community leaders.

Teen Queen Experience is our way to change the community by re-enforcing positivity and growth in our young ladies, giving them positive images of a woman's role in the world today and creating a path for success. We want to remind them of their value and importance in our society as well as the value of respect, education and leadership. Our goal with Teen Queen Experience is to erase the negative images of our youth, our young women and our minority community .
